Ensuring the safety and durability of meat packaging is essential, especially considering the sensitivity of hygiene during the meat slaughter and cutting processes. Maintaining a consistent temperature of no more than 4°C during packing is crucial to prevent nucleation.

Fibre-based board, known for its excellent freezing qualities, plays a key role. The absence of trapped air within the board eliminates any insulating effects, thereby accelerating the freezing process. Depending on the specific packaging and freezing tunnel conditions, customers may experience a significant reduction in freezing time, ranging from 30% to 50%.

Our Solid Board Boxes are 100% recyclable, made from renewable resources and suitable for blast freezing due to it being a moisture proof fibre based form of packaging.

Our Poly-Coated boxes take up 7-10 times less space during transportation and in storage, allowing you to fit more goods per pallet and reduces the amount of movement that occurs during transport.

Mariner Packaging have the possibility for a machine erected tray or hand erected tray. Our machine erected trays are delivered flat and can be folded and glued on a standard erecting machine at the moment you need them. Alternatively, the hand erected tray can be folded manually at the moment you need them, without the use of a machine.

Most of our fish packaging is made from a fibre based board that’s moisture resistant, environmentally friendly, compact and can be supplied with individual and high quality printing.

Composition of Solid Board

Solid board consists of a grey inner layer that has been made from recycled materials including paper and cardboard. Mariner Packaging laminate their inner layer with foils to give them the perfect barrier for greasy products like salmon and other fish.

An additive in the grey layer prevents water from entering the board. This is called Sapino quality. Sapino board always has a PE coating finish.
